Funeral Order of Service

Orders of Service are useful to let the congregation know the running order of the service. Also there are conventions which help people to follow the service eg responses are in bold type, usually prefaced by the word All. To have the words of hymns printed saves the necessity for looking the hymn up in the hymn book. Many people are now including a photograph on their Order of Service, so that the Order of Service acts as a keepsake. Some people also find them a good physiological prop, ie they have something in their hands which can help at what is obviously an emotional time.

No two Orders of Service will be identical, even if they are by a similar officiant.

It is important that the Officiant is consulted before an Order of Service is started. This is because they will agree the content and composition with you. The Officiant will usually be a member of the Clergy or if held at the Crematorium it may be a Humanist Celebrant or a member of the Family. Once the Service is agreed then the information can be e-mailed, faxed or posted, it is recommended that you use special post (next day guaranteed) for ensuring the information arrives, this is especially important if you are sending photographs.

Your Order of Service:

Traditionally the front cover of Order of Service will usually have - where the service is, In Loving Memory of, Name, Date of Birth – Date of Death or just the years, and Date of funeral. You can include any picture you want at no extra charge, unless you require us to scan and retouch one of your photographs. Photographs and Illustrations are usually on the front cover, inside front cover, inside back cover or back cover – a simple cross, flower, church, photograph of your loved one or family photographs. We provide a unique personalised Order of Service to your exact requirements.
